Can’t sleep reset
The day is over and your mind is still at work. Fighting for sleep usually keeps you awake longer. These steps lower the volume—no guarantee you’ll knock out, just a kinder way to wait.
-
Park the day on paper
Grab anything you can write on. Dump tomorrow’s worries in a messy list—no order required. Circle one item you’ll touch first in the morning. Close the notebook. The list can hold it so you don’t have to.
-
Dim the world a notch
Lower lights if you can. Put the bright screen farther away or switch it off. Stretch your calves, roll your shoulders, unclench your tongue from the roof of your mouth. You’re signaling “night,” not “performance.”
-
Breathe like you’re already safe
Inhale gently through the nose for four counts. Exhale longer—six or eight—through the mouth or nose, whichever feels quieter. Do this for a few rounds. If sleep comes, good. If it doesn’t, you’ve still given your body a soft landing.
